Demo Title: Can with Nuts


Subject: Uniform Acceleration


Description:
Metal nuts are tied to a can with a string at strategic intervals. Can 1 has nuts that are equal distance with each other. Can 2 has nuts that are following the law of falling bodies relationship (1,3, 5, 7, 9). When held above the air and released the nuts are heard to strike the metal plate.


Procedure:

  • Stand up on main table and line up bottom nut with center of metal plate
  • Keep first nut barely above plate surface
  • Make sure all nuts are untangled.
  • Drop the system
