Demo Title: Image formation by eye


Subject: The Eye


Description:
Demonstrate the formation of real inverted image by lens in human eye model


Procedure:

  • Turn on lit object and check that light goes through the cornea of the eye.
  • Talk to students about various parts of the eye such as the cornea, retina and the lens.
  • Place the lens in the slot behind cornea labeled 'septum'.
  • Observe the image of object on retina.
  • This can be done with water inside the model to better mimic the aqueous environment of the eye.
  • Additionally, place iris with circular and cat-eye shape and show the change in light intensity falling on retina.
