Description: Hold a long aluminum rod at the midpoint and stroke with rosined fingers. Press the end of the rod to a Styrofoam cup to amplify the sound.
Procedure:
Hold the aluminum rod between your thumb and pointer finger at the center.
First tap thje rod on the ground several times.
Apply rosin to you fingers on the opposite hand and run them along the aluminum rod to create a sound.
Review the wave length information on the overhead.
Change the overhead to the frequency analyzer and run your fingers along the rod once again to determine the frequency.
Repeat the process again but hold the Styrofoam cup to the end of the rod using it as a speaker.
Put your fingers in a different position on the rod and repeat the process. this will give you a different frequency.
